Happy Cat Safety Collars are a brand new design to keep your adventurous cat safe and well.
My name is Phil Crisp. I’m the designer/inventor of the Happy Cat Collar and I’d like to tell you a bit about Happy Cat Collars and myself.
I’ve owned cats for many years and have never felt comfortable in using any of the previously available collars after hearing many tales of the mishaps that can occur with them. With the Happy Cat Collar I believe we‘ve managed to overcome the problems inherently associated with other cat safety collars! Namely, as any veterinarian will tell you, the problem of the cat getting its paw or lower jaw trapped beneath its collar. This can lead to horrendous injuries to the cats’ leg, tongue and jaw. The unique design of our collars has eliminated these problems. Also, this collar releases easily and safely from the cats neck when caught. Whereas most other collars offer some sort of clip that will release under pressure, this design allows the collar to slip away smoothly. There is no need for your pet to fight and twist to become unstuck.
The Happy Cat Collar is designed to be a close, yet relaxed fit and "hug" the cats’ neck. i.e. it should be touching all of the way around with no gaps. They've been designed so that although the fit is close there is only a minimal amount of pressure exerted on the animals neck which doesn't cause any restrictions to blood flow, breathing, eating etc. Indeed, in all of our test cases the cat, after the initial surprise of having a collar on - with many never having wore any collar before - would not even notice it being there. We've had fantastic results with cats that have never kept other types of collar on for very long keeping the Happy Cat Collar on indefinitely! Also, because the collar is self-adjusting, expanding as the cat grows, it’s going to be "one size fits all!"
Due to the unique design of the Happy Cat Collar, I felt it was fundamental to have it approved by somebody who has high standing within the world of animal welfare. So, during the design and development stage I presented it to the Chief Veterinary Officer of the Uk’s leading animal welfare society. Bearing in mind it is no longer their policy to officially endorse any products, he seemed to be very impressed and said: “I THINK IT'S A SUPERB INNOVATION.”
THE BENEFITS OF HAVING A CLOSE FITTING COLLAR ARE:
1) It tends to settle into and not just sit on top of the fur - this in itself makes the collar less likely to become snagged.
2) The fact that there are no growth allowance gaps (because it's self-adjusting) between collar and pet - this in itself makes the collar less likely to become snagged.
3) Because of the way it does 1) above, this will allow any flea treatment (herbal, preferably) that may be incorporated into the collar in the future, to be delivered closer to the skin – where the fleas dwell, and not just atop the fur as standard flea collars seem to do.
4) Also, as far as I am aware, it is the only self-adjusting collar available.
And 5) As above, it’s the ONLY collar that overcomes the problem of the cat getting its paw or jaw trapped beneath it - A MAJOR BREAKTHROUGH IN COLLAR DESIGN!
